Noida Liquor Shops Announced Buy 1, Get 1 Free Offer Till March 31

As the Uttar Pradesh government gears up to implement a new excise policy on April 1, liquor shops across Noida are offering significant discounts to clear out existing stock. Customers can now take advantage of Buy 1, Get 1 Free offers and up to 50% discounts on foreign liquor, leading to a surge in demand.

Why Are Liquor Shops Offering Discounts?

The state government has introduced a major change in how liquor licenses are granted. Instead of renewing existing licenses, an e-lottery system has been introduced, allowing new players to enter the market. As a result, many existing liquor shop owners are aggressively selling their remaining stock before their current licenses expire.

Additionally, the government is rolling out composite liquor shops, which will sell both beer and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) together. This means separate beer and IMFL stores will be merged, making it necessary for retailers to offload excess inventory before the transition.

Massive Spike in Liquor Sales

The ongoing discounts have led to a 30-40% increase in sales, according to excise officials. Noida liquor shops typically sell:

  • 10,000 bottles of beer
  • 30,000 bottles of foreign liquor
  • 40,000 bottles of country liquor This daily sales volume, which generates Rs 3-4 crore in revenue, is now witnessing an unprecedented boost due to the discounts.

Crowds Rush to Take Advantage of the Deals

The announcement of the new excise policy last week set off a shopping frenzy among liquor buyers. As stores slashed prices, customers rushed to purchase their favorite brands at significantly lower prices. Reports suggest that some buyers even stocked up on entire crates of liquor in anticipation of price hikes after the new policy takes effect.

What Happens After April 1?

Once the new excise policy is implemented:

  • Liquor shops allotted through the e-lottery system will officially start operations.
  • The newly introduced composite shops will begin selling both beer and IMFL.
  • Existing retailers who do not win the new lottery will no longer be in business.
